Coming to Berlin for the great music scene, then you are more than happy visiting berlin this week!
There is music and events going on every where.
A bunch of great dj´s, bands and artists are coming to berlin to perform and to make the city dance!
There is the popkomm international music market at the former airport tempelhof. Popkomm´s showcase festival takes place on the 8th and 9th of september and will present some of the most interesting and talented artists from all over the world. The Tempelhof Airport Complex is also the venue for the Berlin Festival (10th and 11th of September). This Festival takes place for the 5th time and has an amazing line up: Editors, Fatboy Slim, Atari Teenage Riot, Robyn,toomanydj´s and many many more. 10 artists on the Berlin Festival Line Up are presented by the Popkomm as promising new-comer acts.

At the Kulturbrauerei, in Berlin´s vivid Neigbourhood Prenzlauerberg, the JAZZKOMM takes place. Some great jazzmusicians will perform at the Franzz club. For a line up and more details check here
Saturday night, 11th of September is your change to experience Berlin´s Nightlife to the maximum. It´s the Berlin clubnight that gives one the opportunity to visit many clubs, paying only once 12€ entrance fee. There are shuttle busses driving you from one club to another! this must be heaven!

HEROES, FREAKS, AND SUPER-RABBIS THE JEWISH DIMENSION OF COMIC ART

Superman was the work of Jewish cartoonists—as were Batman, Spiderman, and other superheroes of the era. Ever since the comic strip was invented in the immigrant neighborhoods of New York, Jewish artists have played a key role in developing the medium. The exhibition draws on the work of over forty artists to trace the history of Jewish illustrators, scriptwriters and publishers of comics throughout the twentieth century. It presents heroes and anti-heroes, hard-hitting opponents of Hitler, and neurotic petty bourgeois. With over 400 objects on display, it spans an arc from the first superhero comics of the 1930s and 1940s, through the underground scene of the 1960s, to the more challenging literary format of our time, the graphic novel.
Veterans of the medium such as Rube Goldberg, Will Eisner and Harvey Kurtzman are represented along with contemporary artists such as Art Spiegelman, Rutu Modan, Joann Sfar and Ben Katchor by numerous original drawings, sketches, and comic books.

Under a circus-tent ceiling, ufaFabrik creates a theatre without walls in a secluded corner of its Tempelhof complex. This season, it is hosting the unusual international dance theatre and acrobatics spectacle “VibeZ.” . The arists come from Asia, the Caribbean, South America, Europe and they met in Berlin: young dancers, musicians and acrobats experience the “VibeZ.” – the feelings, the atmosphere and the moods of the city – and put these experiences on stage using the resources of their art. With breakdance, acrobatics, hip hop, beatboxing and tightrope performing, the young street artists create an emotional and dynamic show. Young, cheeky, multicultural … and full of energy: “Divinely gifted bodies” was the enthusiastic reaction of the press.

Cold war bunker

Visit the Berlin Underworlds!
Are you interested in going beyond the popular touristic sights and explore a bit more of Berlins history?

Then why not go on a bunker tour!
There are a view different bunker tours, in english, german and also in spanish.
This is really something exceptional and very interesting! A must do!
At Berlin Underworlds you can experience the history of Berlin from an unconventional perspective! Since 1997, the Berlin Underworlds Association has been offering regular tours into some of the most important underground structures in the city. Although the majority of their tours are in or near the Gesundbrunnen station in the north of Berlin, they Berlin Underground Company also offers tours in several other subterranean complexes that are otherwise not publicly accessible. The Tours run all through the year and from April through October there are even one or more tours a day you can attend!
Meeting point is at the southern entrance of the U8 subway station at Gesundbrunnen BHF (exit direction to Humboldthain Park, Brunnenstraße). Here is also the ticket office and here you can find information leaflets aswell.

Berlin knows many many cool clubs & bars & parties. There are some really cool clubs and bars close to the EastSeven hostel.

We made you a top 10! Enjoy your stay in Berlin….!!!

1. ZU MIR ODER ZU DIR:  for many years now this bar has been well established in the nightlife scene of prenzlauer berg. It´s one of the hippest loungebars in town.
Every night you can enjoy great live music from Berliner DJ´s.

2.ALTE KANTINE: this is one of the oldest locations in the Kulturbrauerei. It´s a small club, with geat parties.

3.INTERSOUP:the intersoup is a combination of a bar, a restaurant and a club. Great dj´s and live music takes place several times a week. Their monthly karaoke parties have become legendary!

4. EKA LEKA: This bar on Helmholzplatz has the charm of a Southern European pub! They play nice music, and sometimes there are dj´s and gigs! Every first Thursday of the month there is BINGO!!

5.OPEN AIR BAR MAUERSEGLER: located directly at the former border, besides the famous Mauerpark! They have a great beergarten, also a lounge area inside…

6. AUGUST FENGLER: here you can drink, dance, play table football, and just partie till you drop!!

7.PRATER BIER GARTEN: the oldest authentic beer garden in town. Here you can relax after a rough day of sight-seeing. while drinking a beer and eating sausages!

8. DR. PONG: Table tennis bar!
9. KLUB DER REPUBLIK: Cosy first floor lounge club with with a distinctive eastish charme & interior, DJs every night, from funk to house and dubstep.

8)    10 YEARS OF C/O BERLIN

This year, C/O Berlin celebrates its ten-year anniversary. The anniversary celebration will kick off with the opening of the MAGNUM exhibition, with live music and a party to follow. Over the course of the following C/O Berlin Photography Days , scholars and experts will discuss the new role of photography. Along with five panel discussions , internationally known photographers will hold lectures providing insight into their work, personal views, and experiences. At screenings , photographers selected for the Talents program will show their work. Live acts in the evenings, barbecues , and a lounge will round out the program of events for C/O Berlin’s ten-year anniversary.

Unterstützung gibt es von DANIEL METEO, der in den letzten Monaten zu Hochtouren aufgelaufen ist und jede Party, auf der er spielt, mit der ersten Platte erst mal einen Stock tieferlegt. Eingeleitet wird der Abend durch dessen Freund MAX MONTANA, ebenfalls ein Könner.

EastSeven Berlin Hostel has got new pictures!

A couple of weeks ago we arranged a photoshoot with Marcel. He came by at the hostel to take pictures of several rooms, the reception, the garden, and ofcourse from the other common areas!
So now we can update our pictures everywhere and people from all over the world can see what the hostel looks like, before making a booking!

It was such fun to have Marcel around! I showed him some rooms where he could take pictures, and I even ´modelled´ for him!
Also he made a lot of pictures from the guest who where staying here. Especially at night, during the monday evening cooking event, where there were a lot of hungry guests around.
Marcel made pictures, and I walked around with the hostel-camera, making a new hostel-video.

An important element of the YAAM is the decoration and the artistic development – inspired by Jim Avignon, who initially influenced the visual appearance enourmously.

others a chance to present their work to a broad audience.

enjoy a beach feeling, cool down in one of the coolest pools in town, floathing on the river spree! all the cool people come here!

rooftop beachbar….a bit difficult to find, that´s why its still a bit of a secret spot, which is cool. Go to the Schönhauser Arcaden shopping mall. Take the elevator to the 5th floor…and there you´ll have it: sun coktails and a great view…
